Raphael hello,
Back in Monaco, I wanted to thank you for organising our stay in Ireland.
Playing prestigious links in 30 knots of wind and frequent showers was an ambitious sporting challenge...:) Apart from the very uncertain weather at this time, we found the Irish welcome particularly exceptional. From our arrival in Cork until we landed in Nice, we found only top service and smiles.
The Doonbeg site is exceptional, the hotel is top as are its restaurants, rooms very comfortable..... I will gladly return next year.
We also visited and discovered Dromoland and no doubt we will stay there in the future.
Regarding the links:
- Doonbeg is a 9/10 for me
- Lahinch almost the same score 8/10 but the clubhouse and its
environment cannot be compared to Doonbeg. Some holes are exceptional and we really enjoyed playing there.
- Ballybunion is our big disappointment. OK, rain, cold, wind
etc..... did not help our stay but:
. Basic-style clubhouse and McDonald's-type restaurant....
. Buses, buses, buses...... removing any exclusivity from the site.
. Tee times every 10 minutes in groups of 4. We took 5h45 for 18 holes with waits between 5 and 10 min per hole, in wind and rain.
. The course is exceptional as is maintenance but nothing beats Doonbeg in its approach to course perfection.
. So a 6/10 for me, much more because of round management than golf quality.
In conclusion.... a perfect stay, perfect welcome, "challenging" courses, difficult conditions but high-level pleasure. We will repeat this experience as soon as possible.
With all my thanks.
Kind regards

Golf trip to Scotland (2024).
Very good stay; everything went very well for us (original feedback text was partly illegible).
The golf tour was very enjoyable though still a bit cold — max 8°C so I bought a hat. Lucky with rain: drizzle first morning and heavy rain first four holes penultimate day; after a break we restarted then fine until the end. Hotel very good, clean rooms, good breakfast, helpful staff, good Aberdeen dining tips. Only downside: booked car too small for 3 people, 3 golf bags and 3 bags — upgraded to SUV for £280 extra.
Kind regards,
We are satisfied with our stay; everything was as in the programme. We regret not having planned a third course on Sunday morning which would have been possible given the number of courses around Portmarnock Hotel.
Driving on the left remains the difficulty. We are considering another stay in 2020 from Thursday 21 May to Sunday 24 May in Wales or Scotland; we will ask you to assess transfers between airport, hotel and courses.

Hello, very pleasant stay in central St Andrews with fabulous courses and mild weather. Punctual transfers and friendly drivers; welcoming guest house and golf staff. Guest house location let us enjoy daily St Andrews life, pubs, shops and restaurants during university graduation. We would have liked breakfast before 8:00 before tee times. If possible, separate tee groups with and without caddies for better pace. With thanks Kind regards
