General comment on the trip:

Fazinierende Golfrunden in Kingsbarns und Dumbarnie, leider war dann die Wartezeit um den Old Course als Einzelspieler zu spielen mit einem zeitlich hohen Aufwand verbunden. Die Übernachtung im Blackcraig Castle war, im Vergleich mit den guten Hotels, eine außergewöhnliche Möglichkeit der Nächtigung gewesen. Die üppige Landschaft und die historischen Stätten (Rosslyn Chapel, Dunvegan Castle, Blair Castle, Eilean Donan Castle, …) machen solch eine Reise zu einem ganz besonderen Erlebnis.

Because of weather (fog) we could not play Old Head, but welcome at the course was very good and our green fee is valid for the next 2 years so we will return. Landfall House superb welcome from Donny and Margaux, fine service, to repeat. Brook Manor nothing to say fine service and Sandra the hostess attentive. Dooks superb despite the weather, beautiful place breathing golf tradition and hyper interesting course. Tralee God created it, Palmer designed it—no more comment on one of the best golf days and for weather too 28 degrees…. Portmarnock...we loved the course, however the hotel was under renovation...except at the bar staff in general a bit cold, and madam disappointed the spa was closed.. in conclusion pleasant stay superb discovery of Ireland where we will return, and for Golf Travellers a well-deserved 4 out of 5.

I consulted my 3 companions yesterday evening at an "after Ireland" meeting and asked what scores they gave the 4 courses and the B and B.

Here are the views.

Ballybunion: 4 Dooks: 5 Mahony's Killarney: 5 Ring of Kerry: 3

Crystal Springs B and B: 5

Comments: The 4 courses you chose were very good; Ballybunion particularly difficult, and the wind was truly "Irish"! certainly the least suited to our average handicap (15)

Dooks was a real treat, a very pleasant links to play and the setting is fantastic. Killarney golf club, remarkable setting, very "British" clubhouse (it became our HQ in the evening), Mahony's course very pleasant to play but less exotic than Dooks; Finally Ring of Kerry, a bit young, a "mountain" course that will surely improve with time; however the clubhouse is not on the level of the previous ones.

Our residence, Crystal Springs B and B, very clean, very well located, breakfasts hearty, varied and delicious, and our host charming and attentive to clients. Place to recommend.

You can see we were all four delighted with our Irish stay under Mediterranean sun, not to mention pubs, atmosphere and welcome. Kind regards. Claude AUFFRET and Co

Globalement séjour excellent, une semaine sans pluie et partie de 2 à chaque fois. -voiture de location: Enterprise peut-être tarif plus avantageux mais suspicion à l'égard du client au retour du véhicule assez désagréable (remarque déjà faite dans le passé).Excuses du loueur faites à l'annonce des 3 vérifications de pression des pneus insuffisante effectuées pendant le séjour. -hébergement Meldrum House:toujours aussi bien mais quiproquo lors du règlement de la note. La réception n'avait pas pris en compte le voucher pré-paid et voulait nous faire régler la totalité des nuitées... -hébergement Craigielaw Lodge: chambre "spartiate" mais nous le savions et cela est compensé par la vue exceptionnelle sur le Firth of Forth -golf: Peterhead : moyen. Avais oublié que l'aller est assez quelconque Old Moray, Gullane 1, Dunbar at the top like usual Cruden Bay aussi bien sûr mais fin du parcours gâchée par longue attente Dunbarnie sera bientôt au top mais pas encore à ce jour : greens lents et parfois avancés, trous 7 et 8 regroupés en un seul trou. Peut-être la raison du geste commercial: voucher de 60 livres par personne à valoir sur achats au proshop ou au restaurant, chariots gratuits...Si cela est appelé à devenir la règle, alors applaudissements...mais doute. Voilà.
